Since joining Jacobszoon and Associates, Inc. in 2024, Jessenya as a wildlife biologist has focused on preservation of water resources, flora and fauna surveys, wildlife-habitat relationships, and arboricultural assessments. Principal projects have included conducting biological and botanical surveys and assessments according to CDFW’s protocol of special status species and habitats. These surveys have been conducted for coastal development permits, trail expansion projects, timber harvest projects, and regulatory compliance for Mendocino, Sonoma and Lake Counties. She has worked on projects put forth by the California Water Board regarding sediment monitoring, watershed management, and wetland conservation. Jessenya has worked on public works projects regarding tree safety and pruning. She is proficient in mapping software such as ArcGIS Pro and Arc Online to produce visualizations of data gathered in the field. She currently holds an Arborist TRAQ certification.
Prior to joining Jacobszoon and Associates, Jessenya worked as a subcontractor for PG & E doing utility vegetation management. As a Vegetation Management Inspector, she assessed the conditions of trees with proximity to the power lines to ensure that they remained the desired distance from the utility.
