Evan Carlson is a Wildlife Biologist at Jacobszoon and Associates, Inc. with three years of professional experience in environmental consulting, carnivore, small mammal, and avian biology, forestry, and wildlife research. Evan provides botanical and biological assessments for projects requiring compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). He received a Rare Plant Voucher Collecting Permit through CDFW (No. 2081-a-21-075-V). 

Since joining Jacobszoon and Associates, Evan has performed botanical and biological assessments, nesting bird surveys, GIS mapping, and site management bullfrog surveys for projects requiring compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Prior to joining Jacobszoon and Associates, Inc., Evan worked for the Mexican Wolf Recovery Program tracking, monitoring, capturing, and handling endangered Mexican gray wolves (Canis lupus bailevi) with Defenders of Wildlife and the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). He has also worked with the US Forest Service (USFS) performing raptor and owl surveying and monitoring, nest checks, broadcast calling and nest/territory delineations. He also performed common stand exams for forest-wide-hazardous fuels reduction projects and vegetation identification during his employment. While working at the Jones Center at ichauway near Newton, GA. Evan completed bird, small mammal, mesocarnivore and vegetation surveys and often identified impacts to white-tailed-deer predation behaviors and threatened and endangered species habitat. 

Evan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sustainability with emphasis in Environmental Science and Environmental Policy from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2019 with multiple studies pertaining to wildlife ecology, biology, and geospatial technology.
