Job Description
Jacobszoon & Associates, Inc. is hiring
qualified individuals to work in Ukiah, CA as
part of our Forestry team. The successful
candidate will work both independently and as
part of a team to meet project goals under the
supervision of a Registered Professional
Forester (RPF). The ideal candidate is
adaptable, possesses strong communication and
problem-solving skills, and will be willing to
occasionally travel for work. Professional
duties will cover a wide array of forestry and
biological assignments both in and out of the
field. The position requires an individual
capable of working in remote, rugged locations
on steep and brushy terrain, sometimes in
inclement weather.
Responsibilities
• Field layout of forestry projects including
flagging, timber marking and watercourse
identification
• Preparation of permit applications, reports,
and other documentation
• Forest inventory data collection and
analysis
• Forest/rural road assessment and
monitoring
• Biological and botanical surveying
• GIS mapping and field navigation
Qualifications
• B.S. in Forestry or closely related field
preferred or A.S. in Forestry/Natural
Resources
• Ability to work alone and with others in
remote and steep terrain
• Valid CA driver’s license and clean driving
record
• Ability to safely operate 4WD pickup and ATV
(ATV training provided)
• Knowledge of forestry principles and

Job Description
Jacobszoon & Associates, Inc. (J&A) is
hiring a Registered Professional Forester
(RPF) to join our Forestry Team in Ukiah, CA.
J&A RPFs work on a wide range of projects
to meet natural resource management objectives
for a diverse client base. The ideal candidate
is an adaptable self-starter with strong
communication and problem-solving skills who
is willing to occasionally travel for work.
The RPF is responsible for all facets of
contract administration and project
management.
Responsibilities
• Develop and prepare Timber Harvest Plans
(THPs), fuel reduction projects, Cal Fire
Exemptions, and other CEQA documentation
• Design and implement forest inventories and
timberland appraisals
• Administration of timber operations and fuel
treatments
• Supervision of forestry technicians
• Forest/rural road assessment and
monitoring
• Growth and yield modeling and sustained
yield planning
• GIS analysis and mapping
Qualifications
• Possession of a valid California RPF
License
• Valid CA Driver’s License
• Ability to work alone in remote and rugged
terrain
• Ability to safely operate 4WD pickup and ATV
(ATV training provided if needed)

hiring a Wildlife Biologist- Environmental
Technician to join our Biological Team in
Ukiah, CA. The successful candidate will work
both independently and as part of a team to
meet company and client goals. The ideal
candidate is an adaptable self-starter with
strong communication and problem-solving
skills who is willing to occasionally travel
for work. Position may include up to 100
percent travel.
Responsibilities
• Wildlife surveying
• Habitat typing
• Map development/GIS
• Research sensitive wildlife species and
habitat
• Conduct environmental inspections, wildlife
and vegetation baseline studies, nesting bird
surveys, and biological evaluations and
assessments
• Collect field data, record and identify
fauna and flora. Use topographic maps, aerial
photographs, GPS units, and other maps and
tools to determine exact locations of project
areas, habitat types, and associated
landforms
• Photograph and take detailed notes of
habitats, species, and landforms
• Maintenance of field equipment
Qualifications
• B.S. in Wildlife Biology or closely related
field and six months of relevant professional
experience
• Ability to work independently and with
others in remote and steep terrain (sometimes
without cell service)
• Valid CA driver’s license
