Before joining Jacobszoon and Associates, Zachary worked with the Redwood National and State Parks (RNSP) as well as the L.W. Schatz Demonstration Tree Forest. His experience includes an internship working with Save the Redwoods League and RNSP on the first year of their Redwoods Rising Internship Program.
During his time at Humboldt State University, Zachary's senior capstone project utilized growth modeling of different restoration thinning prescriptions to predict the residual stand's probability of bear damage. This project included the location and establishment of a permanent research plot within an old-growth coast Redwood/Douglas-Fir stand a Redwood State Park. His work also included the growth modeling of a second-growth mixed Conifer stand toward described old-growth reference conditions utilizing FORSEE.
Zachary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry with a focus on Forest Soils from Humboldt State University.
