
Having joined Jacobszoon and Associates, Inc., in January of 2022, Cody has worked as a Utility Forester for PG&E's Enhanced Vegetation Management program, conducting environmental monitoring, nesting bird surveys, tree-cr4ew tailboards, archeological surveys, and watercourse flagging/identification throughout Sonoma, Lake, and Mendocino counties. His primary duties include: identification of wildlife and botanical species, communication with tree-crew foremen to provide operational recommendations to ensure compliance with California's Forest Practice Rules and PG&E's Best Management Practices, identification of cultural/historical resources within the zone of operations, field monitoring of tree-work operations, and providing field assistance with identification of potential environmental hazards and protected class.
In addition to his work with PG&E, Cody has conducted softwood and hardwood botanical identification for two re-vegetation plans in Mendocino and Napa counties, identifying the stumps and germinates of Bishop Pines in Gualala and the stumps of multiple Oak species in Napa.
Prior to working for Jacobszoon and Associates, Inc. Cody worked as a Student Researcher at the Humboldt State University for two years, having created a hypothesis and conducted a variety of studies throughout Trinity and Shasta counties on the Post-Wildfire Regeneration of Pinus sabiniana iin Northern California.
Cody holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography with a Minor in Forestry and GIS from Humboldt State University.
